Margaret Shepherd Associates: The Home Health and Hospice Experts
Based in Seattle, Washington, and serving clients across the United States, Margaret Shepherd Associates is a home health, hospice, and homecare consulting firm leading the way for agencies who desire to become leaders themselves.
We employ a team approach to the critical issues of organizational performance, strategy development, accreditation and licensure, interim management, executive coaching, and the many other challenges agencies face every day. We strive to provide leadership development and strategy design for emerging organizations in the home health, hospice, and homecare industry.
Margaret Shepherd Associates are experienced leaders and managers of established home health, hospice, and private duty/homecare services. Each of our associates has been responsible for all aspects of program leadership and development from smaller free standing agencies to larger programs within integrated service delivery systems. All share a passion for the delivery of responsive quality services while developing the necessary organizational competencies for clinical and office-based management.
We’re recognized as an effective home health and hospice consulting firm. We understand the importance of utilizing colleagues in specialized practice areas. We partner with well-known national resource groups for financial services, software selection, and accreditation guidance. Our national involvement also allows us to make referrals to outstanding firms that offer unique marketing and regulatory assistance to cope with, or prepare for, the changes inherent in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.
As founder of this home health and hospice consulting practice, Margaret Shepherd has dedicated her career to community-based practice. Starting in public health, she soon became a pioneer in the home health and hospice field, establishing an agency that developed model programs for mental health, home health, hospice, homecare, and geriatric care management.
Ms. Shepherd served on the founding board of the National Association for Home Care and Hospice, and has been a state homecare association president. She served on Long Term Care commissions as a governor appointee and on professional advisory task forces for the Joint Commission.
All members of the home health, hospice, and homecare consulting team remain actively involved in professional associations, policy development, and engagement with current providers of service. Team members have degrees in nursing and health administration, with additional graduate studies in specialized areas of practice to bring a broad background of skills to any organizational engagement.
